About Priesthills Nurseries:
Priesthills Nursery Ltd. is a well-established company, providing the highest levels of care and education for children since 1984. Despite our long history, we remain a dynamic and forward thinking and continually evolving company providing a unique service to the families in our area.
We care for and educate children aged from birth - 5, following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. We promote learning in an environment where free-flowing, child-led play, exposure to natural, open-ended resources and outdoor spaces form an integral part of learning.
Our aim is to support children to learn through their own, innate drive to explore and investigate. In order to achieve this aim, we follow a process of ‘in the moment planning’ where highly knowledgeable, well qualified educators support children through naturally occurring teachable moments.
Our Ethos:
At Priesthills Nurseries we strongly believe that children are innately ‘programmed’ to learn and that the role of the adult is to support this intrinsic learning process rather than to ‘teach’ in its more traditional sense.
We have created an environment where children are free to learn in their own time and in their own way with free access to open ended resources and unrestricted access to the outdoors. Ours is an environment where children can step outside of the modern childhood of sedentary screen based or prescriptive plastic toy playtime to play the natural way we played as children.
We will help children achieve their maximum potential in life by supporting them to develop the tools they need for a happy and successful life - confidence, resilience, self-motivation, enthusiasm, independence and an insatiable curiosity about the world.
We understand that self-reflection is the best tool for improvement and as such continually review our practice to ensure that we are using the best possible practice in everything we do.
We see ourselves as inspirational educators offering an incredibly fun and learning-rich experience for children.
We are a family run business, with a loyal long serving staff team. Here at Priesthills, our colleagues are not just colleagues, but well respected and looked after members of a supportive team.
